Volunteer & Foster with Us
The Golden Project Rescue relies on the compassion and dedication of volunteers to fulfill our mission. Whether you can open your home as a foster family, donate your time at events, or contribute your professional skills, there is a place for you in our rescue family. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, directly impacts the life of a dog waiting for their second chance.

“Fostering changed my life as much as it changed theirs.”
Every volunteer and foster family who joins our mission becomes part of a community united by a shared love for Golden Retrievers and a commitment to making a difference. The bonds formed between our volunteers and the dogs they help are truly extraordinary.
Ways You Can Help
Foster a Golden
Open your home to a rescued Golden Retriever and provide them with the love, patience, and stability they need while they wait for their forever family. Fostering is the most direct and impactful way to save a dog's life. As a foster parent, you will receive comprehensive support from our team, including all veterinary expenses, food, supplies, and training guidance. The average foster period ranges from two to eight weeks, and the experience of watching a traumatized dog blossom into a happy, confident companion is incredibly rewarding.
Volunteer at Events
Join our event team and help with adoption days, fundraising galas, community outreach programs, and educational workshops. Our events are essential for raising awareness, finding adoptive families, and generating the donations that keep our rescue running. Volunteers assist with setup, registration, dog handling, guest engagement, and more. Whether you can commit to a few hours or an entire weekend, your contribution makes a real difference in the lives of our dogs and the communities we serve.
Transport Drivers
Help us move dogs safely from rescue locations to veterinary clinics and foster homes. Our transport network is critical to our operations, and volunteer drivers are the backbone of this system. Routes range from local trips of an hour or two to longer relay segments coordinated across multiple volunteers. You will receive training on safe animal transport protocols, and all necessary equipment such as crates, harnesses, and supplies are provided. Every mile you drive brings a dog closer to safety.
Administrative Support
Use your professional skills to help with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our organization running smoothly. We need volunteers with experience in areas such as grant writing, social media management, graphic design, accounting, legal services, and human resources. Even a few hours a week of skilled volunteer work can have an enormous impact on our ability to rescue and care for more dogs. Remote volunteering opportunities are also available for many administrative roles.
